Comparison of selected educational platforms

The rigorous thesis is an extension of the diploma thesis of the same name and deals with the comparison of selected educational platforms. Its aim is to analyze the selected online platforms and their functions with regard to the possibility of incorporating modern teaching methods in adult education. The theoretical part is based on the literature search and other available sources and defines the concepts related to the issue, which are andragogy, adult education methods and online education. It also presents current trends and goals of education in the Czech Republic and the European Union. The theoretical part concludes with a summary of the important theoretical background from which the research part of the thesis draws. In view of the need for a detailed examination of the selected platforms, a qualitative research strategy and a content analysis method were chosen. An interview method was additionally chosen. The online learning platforms explored were Knowspread, Thinkific, Miro and BigBlueButton. For the purpose of the rigorous analysis, their course design features were characterized and presented. Usage of media platforms at the first school during the covid-19 pandemic

The diploma thesis "Usage of media platforms at the first school during the covid-19 pandemic" focuses on the new technologies in education and their usage in the period of distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Online platforms were the only way how to educate students for several months and not only in the Czech Republic. Video communication services have thus played a big role in our lives. This thesis aimed to reflect the usage of media platforms at the first school from the perspective of pedagogues teaching in Prague or the Central Bohemian Region. The research period is defined from the widespread closure of schools in the Czech Republic, from March 11th, 2020, until the last restriction on May 24th, 2021. Through semi-structured in-depth interviews with fifteen respondents were compared the functions of individual platforms. Respondents were selected based on predetermined criteria. Emphasis was placed mainly on the advantages and disadvantages of online platforms and the experience of educators. Its aim was to analyse the selected online platforms and their functions with regard to the possibility of incorporating modern teaching methods in adult education. The influence of new internet concerns on transformation of the traditional publishing house in central Europe

The thesis "The Influence of New Internet Concerns on Transformation of the Traditional Publishing Houses in Central Europe", based on the media convergence theory and theoretical sources from the area of current trends in media field, focuses on changes the traditional publishing houses are going through. The paper maps the digital portfolio of the traditional media houses of Axel Springer in the German market and of media houses of Mafra, Bauer Media and CME in the Czech market. The paper parallely focuses on portfolio of the chosen global Internet companies and the relationships between these new media concerns and the traditional publishing houses, focuses on the competitive advantages of the examined online platforms of the new Internet companies, which potentially compete by their aims with the tradidional publishers. The paper also focuses on the advantages and the options for the users and advertisers, and on the mutual cooperation and dependenncy of the both types of media concerns.
